International Village Shop

Our „International Village Shop“ by artist group Myvillages founded by Kathrin Böhm (GB), Wapke Feenstra (NL) and Antje Schiffers (D) is social sculpture, network and distribution channel at the same time.

The product range includes existing local products, such as Friesland’s horse-milk soap or Brooms from the Lüneburg Heath, as well as new things developed by villagers all over the world especially for the „International Village Shop“: „Frogbutter spoons“ from Oberfranken, „caravan flowerpots“ from Northern Ireland, „farmer porcelain“ from Spain or „Fufu Bowls“ from Ekumfi-Ekrafwo in Ghana. And, of course, there is also the „Potato Sleeper“ from felt, which was invented in Neuenkirchen.

The range of goods represents local resources, international connections, regional cooperations, unexpected self-presentations and shows us a treasure of ideas and knowledge from the country.
